Holly Hurd-Forsyth
Holly Hurd-Forsyth has been Curator of the Fifth Maine Museum since 2014. Her primary goal is to utilize the Fifth Maine’s amazing collections to continuously improve the interpretive program at the museum and offer fresh new exhibits each year. She’s committed to making historic sites welcoming and engaging places for everyone.
She was the Collections Manager at Maine Historical Society and the Wadsworth-Longfellow House in Portland, Maine for over twenty years. She’s worked for California Historical Society in San Francisco, the Victoria Mansion in Portland, and is also affiliated with the Tate House Museum in the Stroudwater neighbor of Portland. She’s served on numerous non-profit boards, including Maine Archives & Museums (MAM) and the Northeast Document Conservation Center (NEDCC) in Andover, Massachusetts.
A native of Maine, Holly has a Master of Arts in Museum Studies from San Francisco State University. She and her family have lived year-round on Peaks Island since 2000.
